Bio
Born in Belarus to a Palestinian father and Russian mother, and raised in Haifa, a mixed city in Israel within the local Palestinian community. Maria is the CEO of Humanity Crew, as well as one of the co-founders. A lawyer in profession, Maria is an active member and campaigner for minorities’ rights and women’s rights in her local community. In the past few years, Maria has also become an active refugee mental health advocate and has spoken in many conferences and forums on the importance of mental health support for refugees. Maria speaks five languages; Arabic, English, Russian, Hebrew, and Spanish.
Professional Background
Maria holds two bachelor degrees in law and psychology from the University of Haifa and a Master's degree in law, with a concentration in Intellectual property, from the George Washington in Washington D.C, U.S.A. Maria has been a member of the Israel Bar Association since 2012. She worked as a legal counsel in a private firm and at the Israeli Law, Information and Technology Authority (Ministry of Justice) providing legal counsel, researching and drafting guidelines regarding the protection of Privacy Law, the Credit Data Services Law, and the Electronic Signature Law.

Recipient of an Erasmus Mundus scholarship for her full-time undergraduate study program in the field of European Law at the Vrije Universiteit in Brussels, Belgium.
Recipient of a Fulbright Scholarship and a Thomas Buergenthal scholarship for her studies in the United States.
Awarded the first international award of the Princess of Gerona Foundation, that was granted to her by the King Felipe VI of Spain in a ceremony in Barcelona.
